A friend of mine told me that a local farm estate must be getting ready for an auction as they are pulling all the old tractors and equipment out of the brush.
I guess there are several of the L or LA Case tractors with the 3-71 GMC conversion.
Just wondering during what years were these conversions made? Who did the conversions? Was it a business making the conversions or were farmers doing their own conversions?
I've never seen one in person and really don't know much about them other than they exist.

I bet the old operator who used run the tractor is "hard of hearing " now. I do not know who did the Case conversions but Kinze used to re power Tractors with Cummins Engines. If the Engines have GMC on them they are from pre - 1960. In 1960 GMC engines changed to Detroit Engines so IH could put them in their Trucks. Thanks Merton

Didn't Massy Ferguson and Oliver use them also? I've seen an Oliver with one at a tractor pull that could be heard a mile away....

Dave;
Oliver used the 4-53 series engine in the 1950GM. This the real screamer. Believe the 990GM used the 3-53 engine, but not real positive... Gene

The Oliver 99, 990, and 995 all used the 3-71.
Oliver also built the MF98 which had different sheet metal and painted in MF colors.
