My tractor has a hole in it.
just a small one :D
well, maybe not that small

I bought this 1939 Farmall A a couple or three years ago to fix up.
Sold it and bought it back.
Maybe this winter I will actually fix it.
I plan on putting a patch on the block.
I want to retain the original block because the serial number on it is the only positive way to identify it as a 39 model.
I could not find any casting codes on it.
And the pedal guard is missing.
I have a volunteer driver for it. :)

Looks like an ambitious project Bill. Have fun with it.

You're gonna have to put some blocks on those pedals so your driver will be able to actually push them down.:)
Good luck with the project.

Not every day you run across a '39!

Do you have the piece/s that broke out? Should be easy to put back in place so that it will hod water. I think that I might even try using epoxy (JB Weld) only for the repair.
