'round the pot-bellied stove / Antique oak
« on: January 04, 2008, 06:42:28 PM »
This post strays outside the range of antique tractors but I think it qualifies as an antique. I took this picture of the old oak desk today. Kicking around the idea of putting in a bid on it as it is up for tender. Not that I need another antique but its a piece of local history, plus I could make use of it in my own office. Its got a unique folding feature that I have never seen before. Just curious if anybody on this forum would have a clue how old it might be or what it might be worth "as is".

ATIS General Tractor Discussion / Rock Island Heider

I'd mentioned this old Rock Island Heider tractor over on the ATIS discussion list. Thought a picture here might of some interest.

'round the pot-bellied stove / Stuff I forgot I owned.
« on: December 22, 2007, 07:10:25 PM »
Was cleaning and sorting some of the stuff in an old building on the farm today. The coons invaded it last summer and damaged the roof so I am moving the more valuable stuff to a newer shed. Funny how a person forgets what they own after a few years. I found these old oil cans. One a Buffalo separator oil can, made in Canada. The other is a Gargoyle mobiloil can in pretty fair shape for its age. Label on the side states it is specially for Ford cars. Plus a few good condition Gulf oil quart cans. Definitely worth saving I'd say. :)

'round the pot-bellied stove / Steam Engines

Not the kind you might be thinking of. How many of you have one of these old (econolite) lamps in working condition? I recently got mine out of storage and it works great. They sell for good money on ebay. The steam locomotives are the "General" and "John Bull".
