Gene - I wished I could have made the campfire. Back home We lost power on Sat. morning and as of now we still do not have it. Lost several trees and the tops out of some. First one to be cut up was across my driveway. Many more to be cut up later in cooler days. Also I agree with you 1 1/2 days in Portland is too short to see every thing and to eat all the great food there. I spent most of my time in the vendor field area and at nights over in the oilfield engine area. Maybe next year I will catch up with you.

Gene I was there for one and a half days we had to cut it short because of the hurricane Irene. There is almost too much to see but I try every year. We camped on Cockshuck lane and weathered Wednesday night storm. Merton

Gene - Don't forget that it always rains and storms near or at Portland's August Show and that's not far off. I think the heat you are getting is now here on the East Coast. The weather man said some towns here in Eastern North Carolina had a heat index of 118 degrees yesterday. Merton

Gene - this site has always gotten alot of visitors and I can not answer why.
Charlie V  - With the # of members we have ,we should have more posts. I wonder if the members have the same interest?
Geroge  - Tour sounds like it was fun. I have visited Coolspring one time and would like to return there again.
Maybe I can post more from HOT Eastern North Carolina.

Guys _ Comments like this is what makes collecting Hog Oilers Fun. At one show I displayed my collection and a fellow collector told me he noticed more women were stopping to look at and ask about the Hog Oilers than anything else on the show grounds. So there are many advantages to having Hog Oilers. Merton

I wanted to start a new post for April 2011 and include some pictures too. I remembered my posting that had Hog oilers featured so I will repeat.  This photo is from the last show of 2010 in December. I displayed Engines and Hog Oilers at this show. Merton

Big change this week! You northern guys sent us some colder and wet weather. Last night we had low 30's and this week looks to be solid wet and cold week. Sorry Charlie V - I am low on good weather this week so I can't send you any now.

I have noticed Birds singing in the morning when I leave the house. Next week I will set out some early plants in the garden. Spring is just around the corner here in Eastern North Carolina.
