This post strays outside the range of antique tractors but I think it qualifies as an antique. I took this picture of the old oak desk today. Kicking around the idea of putting in a bid on it as it is up for tender. Not that I need another antique but its a piece of local history, plus I could make use of it in my own office. Its got a unique folding feature that I have never seen before. Just curious if anybody on this forum would have a clue how old it might be or what it might be worth "as is".

I've never seen one like it and have no idea of it's worth but if the price is right, then go for it!  It's sad that about the only solid wood furniture pieces you can find today are antiques unless you build it yourself or have it custom built.

Alan, I'd say your right, probably impossible to find that quality furniture new today at any price. As far as value, I'll have to look around on ebay to see if anything similar is selling to get an idea what to bid. Tenders close next week.

Well I missed the bid by $8. I bid $165 and at the time I bid there was only one other bidder. Oh well, I didn't need it all that bad and at least it didn't get given away at bargain basement price.
