Hi Spencer,

I just had a chance to look - battled a few hours ago to connect but put that down to responses from your post to SEL. Maybe too many people were trying to log on or maybe there were "teething problems" (or maybe my South African connection was just too slow at that time) (It's 2.55 am here now and things are a bit better)

Thank you for this Christmas gift - I'm sure it will be appreciated by many of us and I hope that it is very successful.

Is this why the Charity Auction is late ? I'm not complaining - just asking. http://www.atis.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif
:(
I'll probably learn how to use these "smilies" in due course.

Once again, thanks for the trouble you've gone to and I wish you and yours everything of the best over this Festive Season

Thanks Spencer.
In my eyes this would be great if it totally replaced the email list.

I disagree Alan. With "dial up", I can download all the SEL messages, log off and then read (and reply) at my leisure. When I'm ready I log on and send. My ripoff Telkom does not get too rich off me.

Go ahead and disagree, Jerry.

I like the Forum venue.  I'm also a member of several other forums, most are good, one is poorly managed and is mediocre at best.  It has been my experience that forums don't do well if left unmoderated.  New members really should need approval or the spiders will creep in and "join" and you end up with a mess of porn posts.

I moderate on a couple forums, both of which require approval before new members can post and are kept under control with the occasional jerk getting removed.  It will be interesting to see hwo this one works out.  IMO, it's already halfway there by running VBulletin for software.
