I am confident some will identify the lad pictured at a glance, while others may not.  Anyone who wants to take a shot at identification, please post a reply for fun or post an I dunno reply.  I will reveal the true identity in a few days.

That is a great try, Guys and I appreciate it.  I did not know what Tom Saywer looked like, so I found a copy of him.

I am thinking this lad showed up maybe 25 or35 years later than Tom.  Tom was around in 1876.

Hi Dave,

I do not think so.  I am pretty sure we can rule out Mickey Mouse and all of the other Disney characters too.

I would guess it's the Malt-o-meal boy (or something like that).

Well its not Aunt Jemima but I wonder if it is the "Sunny Boy" kid on the cereal boxes? Or is Sunny Boy cereal a uniquely Canadian breakfast cereal?

I know! I know! :D

I won't post the answer so others can still keep wondering.

No, no balloon on this try, Joe.

By golly, this is great.  George sent an e-mail, and he knows it!  Good eye, George, because I didn't recognize it when I found it on my own computer.  I will post the full picture tomorrow, and all will know.  For anyone who is still thinking about it, here is another major tip:

If this lad is properly posted where he is intended to be, it will take a very large pile of money to buy a copy of him, even though he is now nearly 100 years old.

I did a reply to  this one, Ralph, but I lost it, so here we go again.  We can be pretty sure this lad is not employed selling pancakes.  I am not familiar with Sunny Boy Cereal.  If it is marketed in the U.S., I do not think it is here in the North East.

I think I know now!  Is it the Waterloo Boy from the tractor logo?  I'm pretty sure I'm right, but I also know I am often wrong.  Did I get my baloon Charlie?

There you have it, Joe.  Good job.  I will see if I can find a balloon for you and George.  Pictures to follow.
